In an effort to save some money this year I am thinking of switching from my normal application of Dimension with dry fertilizer to a liquid application of Prodiamine, but I do have a couple of concerns that I hope I can get addressed here. First I do have my Private Applicators License for the state of Illinois and this is for my own lawn in Illinois.
My first question is I know people use Podiamine on home lawns but I do not see on the label where it is labeled for homelawns, usually on most of the labels I read it states for use on homelawns. I know this is a generic chemical but it still has me wondering.
Second I would be using Prodiamine 65 WDG and I have very limited agitation, would I experience issues keeping the product suspended?
Thanks in advance for your help

why not use it in granular form, or is the cost still too much? agitation is needed for any non solution especially. do they have any other formulation? jsut my thoughts.

Yes Prodiamine is labeled for residential use. A lot of problems here in the past couple of years with a lot of break throughs in weed control using Barricade. Just something to consider.
The WDG needs constant agitation or it will drop like a rock in your tank. They make a 4L but it still needs agitation. I will say this..I use some generics of course to save money where I can but DO NOT use a generic Prodiamine. Syngenta's product is much better plus these days you could probally get a rebate. Something else to consider.

I use prodiamine as a granular and have had very good results in the past. The product I use contains barricade not a generic. If you can I would go granular much easier.

Now I guess I don't know what to do, I thought that I had that problem solved but there is no way that I would be able to keep that product in suspension. If I go back to the Dimension dry with fertilizer it is about three times as expensive and while that isn't a deal breaker I haven't been real happy with the results around the street, driveway and the lawn edges. Can anyone suggest a product for spot treating those areas? Maybe I will have to look at a Dimension liquid product, is that product also difficult to keep in suspension? Thanks everyone for all of your help.

Regular,
Use the dry product ( Dimension or prodiamine) and use the edger on your spreader to cover the edge area thoroughly. Or just go over your problem areas twice if you have no edger on your spread.
Do not cut into the soil with a power edger--such action destroys the crabgrass barrier--crabgrass and weeds, like spurge, will flourish. Wait until after Aug 15th.

Prodiamine is "Barracade". The chemistry is of the same tech. So no difference. It stays suspended with bypass agitation, no problem at all. Exactly the same as Barracade 65 WDG. The lable is a bit confusing, we use the 2.3lb annual in a split app at a normal 8 week interval & you will have good results. I can keep it suspended with an electric pump in a 100 gal tank, no problem. Slurry it in a bucket & dump it in a half full tank.

I agree, Syngenta is selling these companies the tech materials sideways, makes no difference what the brand is. My only concern is all the homeowner questions that continue to get answered on this forum.

First Thank You to everyone that took the time to answer my questions.
Secondly my apologizes to those that I offended by posting on this board, I was unaware that this is unacceptable. It would seem though that if experts like PSUTURFGEEK would like to keep the lowly homeowner off the board they should stop replying to the posts.

Actually I agree with you totally, the problem is I do like to help homeowners but in the past when i did the thread would get moved to the homeowner forum. I just think the people running this site need to stay consistent.
