Guy: "my father in law is so great with lawns so I called him when mine was all brown"

Father: "I told him to use scotts turf builder. He said 'I have a bag of this other stuff'. I just threw that right in the garbage!"

Technically you can throw non-pesticide infused ferts in the garbage but is Joe schmo gonna know the difference between "turf builder" and "turf builder with halts" or any 'weed and feed' for that matter.

Not exactly the right message to send.

How about this?

Father: "I told him to use scotts turf builder. He said 'I have a bag of this other stuff'. So I just threw that right in the neighbor yard !

Or:

Father: "I told him to use Scotts Turf Builder. He said 'I have a bag of this other stuff'. So I just dumped it in the storm drain in front of my house!

Actually Google "new scotts tv ad" and this is the number 1 result.

Also removing one word from the phrase still gets this thread in the top 5 results.

I think it is funny that companies shill.

I caught this ad too. Around here, you'd get in trouble for throwing a bag of fertilizer, with or without Halts, into the garbage. Big no-no. I wonder how many whackos wrote Scotts letters about encouraging unsafe chemical disposal? Ran outta stamps, haven;t sent mine yet:-)

Surprised they let that get through. Down here if you are caught, you get fined 1000 right off the bat! No warning! State needs the money! Wondering, does Scott's recommend soil testing before starting ANY fert program?
