289C float function

I must be half brain dead but I can't seem to understand how the float button works.
I was so used to my 262 with the detent but this button thing I get only 3 out of 10 tries.
What am I doing wrong?

Push the loader control all the way down and pull the right trigger and keep it on. The right trigger is for the 2 speed.

On my 297C it works like this, as you are lowering the boom/arm (quickly not slowly) I press the right trigger not the left trigger. The left trigger is for the two speed function.
