View Full Version : Advice with pricing new section of lawn
Hi there. I'm looking for some help with pricing out a new section of lawn. A potential new customer of mine has a section of lawn that has been taken over by weeds and moss. The customer has tilled the area in the past, removed rocks, and re-seeded and said it grew, but then it died from (they think) lack of water. The area is approx. 50ft X 30ft and gets full sun. The customer has asked me to put new top soil down and re-seed, and they want to supply their own topsoil and prep the area themselves in order to save some money. I'm not sure how much to charge for an area that size, and I'm wondering how long it would take to spread the top soil with 2 or 3 guys. Also, does anyone have an idea of how much top soil, seed, and shredded straw I would need?
Thanks!
John

Odd that moss would be taking over in full sun...but anyway.
Kill the area with round up,wait 2 weeks and just throw down a pallet and a half of sod and be done with it.Its not that big of an area, sod would probably cost $175 and labor of a few hours.Make sure you put some starter fertilizer down before the sod.
If they arent willing to spend that money they probably dont care enough about the lawn to water the seed properly anyway.
