Hello, I have about 3-acre lot -- 2.2 acres is grass. The land is relatively flat with the usual landscaping near the house. I have used my neighbor's 7-year old Hustler (52” with 20 hp Honda). I think it took me 1.5 hours last to do a full yard last year.

I need advise on which model to select... I am thinking about FasTrak 54, but would also consider a different model (to get higher speed or better options) if the price is right.

The accessories that I would like to get (now or in the future):
• Mulching Kit (is it worth it)?
• Snow Blade (I have 300 feet driveway) or
• SnowBlower
• FlexForks

Your thoughts?

From what your explaining I would stay with the FasTrak series, and possibly consider the FasTrak SD.
Once you have mowed the property a few times with the 54" you should be down to a hour or so.
Going with the SD will give you the added hp also for the attachments you are considering down the road.

OK, thanks. A follow-up question: is the engine manufacture simply a preference or are there real differences that would make me chose one over the other (e.g. Kawasaki over Honda?)

And what is the MSRP price difference between a 48” and a 54”? Nice to see the spring specials.

Thanks again. I am looking forward to owning a new Hustler!

Preference certainly comes into play for sure.
If your going with the std FasTrak you have your choice between Kohler, Honda and Kawasaki.
One thing to think about...
The mower has a 4 year warranty, the engines have 2 years with the exception of the Honda, the Honda now has a 3 year warranty.
I am in the process of adding the MSRP's of all our mowers, take a look at the MSRP thread at the top of this forum for all the FasTrak and SD pricing.

The Honda will be quieter, and maybe a little better on fuel. But the Kawasaki has more power and torque for less money.
