looking for a 32" mower to do miles of islands? Any suggestions? Doing them with a 21" is to time consuming? Your help would be appreciated....

I am assuming that the island is only 32" x1 or x 2 might as well just get a 36" the wheel base should be simaliar and you have that little extra for other jobs , have never heard of a 32" mower deck

I have a Kees 32". It works very well. I had a M.T.D. 32" before it was pure junk. I use the 32" to get thru small gates.

Best 32" and only 32" hydro is the Exmark Viking.

what would be the advantages to getting a 32 over a 22 or a 36?

Take a look at the Exmark Viking 36in,or the Exmark 36in Turf Tracer. You will be impressed.

I got a Toro 32" belt drive last year. It is a very nice machine and easy to handle.:)

I also have a 32 inch Toro. It is has a 12.5 Kohler and belt drive. I have had it for about 7 years with very little problems. These are great machines.

Scag makes a verysolid 32 belt drive with the 12.5Kaw. I don't own one but have some cutter friends who do and they use them for the same purpose as you stated. Marks Mowing Service

I don't know about your islands but a 36 will fit through all but the smallest of gates.

32 vs 36? Why even consider 32? 4"? What's a ton of islands?

Since you'll end up paying the same or more for the 32" then a 36", you should just go for the 36".

If a belt drive will do, a 36" Exmark Metro is going about $1999 in my area right now.

I bought a toro 36" and it is great but I should have gotten a 32" to get in all gates. I still have lawns that need a 21" and I will remedy that this yr with adding the 32" to the stable. It all depends on your market. There are many lawns I have been passing on because I didn't want to use the 21" and I pass by them every day. I have saved the money for a 60" exmark z but I still can't justify the expence based on business. I still may splurge and get it anyway but what my busines realy needs in the toro 32". I can see it paying for itself in 4 months.

Thanks Toby. I am also looking for about a 36" wb. I have found a 36" scag, gear drive, 15 hp, for $2399. I would really like to check out an exmark though. I like the price that gogetter said he has found. Walkbehinds are hard to find in my area, you very seldom see people using them.

I have a 32" toro and it works great, its the biggest size that will fit through all gates. The only bad thing is it scalps if you mow under 3 inches.

we use a 32" mower once in a while, but the whole time that I am using it I am thinking in the back of my head, "Why didn't I get the 36?"

I have been running a Stanley 26" walkbehind recently (made by MTD). It is actually a quite nice machine. It is self propelled and has front swivel casters, blade clutch, 6.5 b&s OHV engine and mulch kit.

I picked it up for under 400

we don't all live in wide open Nebraska. Sometimes a 32" will fit where a 36" won't. Theoretically, a 32" with shorter wheelbase and blades will give a slightly better cut on rolling or rutted terrain.

I also have a 32" Toro with 12.5 kawi and fixed Exmark style deck and t bar steering and for $2500 it's been hard to beat. Use a 36" if you can, but I got the 32" for a few small gates where the 36" won't fit. I have a 48" Exmark and it uses the same blades, which simplifies things.

But if you're using it for 32" or narrower strips of grass on curbs, the 36" might be too wide.

We got a Ferris 32" "Hydrocut" this year, we hardly ever use the 21" any more. It has a 13 hp. Kawasaki twin with hydrostatic drive. We've been quite happy with it so far.

ferris 32'" hydrocut is the only way to go , as long as there are no steep ditches.:blob3: :blob3: :blob3:

A 32" is a Must Have. UL why do you have that junkjack on there? Are you a weakling and the front of the mower to heavy to pick up on your own and hold up?

Can't beat the price either! I've been very happy with mine as well.

I have a Bob-Cat 32" and always will keep one on my trailer. Since getting my 32", I've taken the trim mower off and haven't used it at all. I've got gates that my 32" will barely get through so I can imagine trying to get a 36" through them. Not gonna happen, I try to make my days easier. I think a 32" reduces trimming time even though it doesn't have any deck overhang. Other lco's check out my trailer to see the 32" and comment about my ability to get places they can't, not that I need their opinions because I've known that for a long time.

The Viking has a Definite Edge over the Ferris 32".

Dual Drive hydro means you can do almost any Hill, Ditch & There is No Manhandling the Mower Ever.

I have the Toro 32" Belt drive mower.... I hardly use it anymore
Being that I purchased a 44" Z........

But it's always there if I need it for gates.

Very good mower for someone that is starting out.....

I do not regret it @ all...It's been a very good mower....

& it is a great backup mower.....

I recently had a problem with it.......If anyone can give
me some insight on this problem...I would appreciate it...

The fuse that engages the blades...keeps blowing the fuse..

Thanks.......:)

That yellow piece of metal?

Does that help in doing straight lines?

A locking device of sorts for the trailer?

Or is that a rake attachment?

Well................... If anyone has any that want to send me. Oh, I only want new ones. Message me and I will tell you where to send them.................

There is no way possible I am going to spend money for something like that, let alone spend any time to mount it. When the catcher placed under the deck on the side does the same thing.

But hey...................what ever floats your boat
