View Full Version : Ruined seeding?

I live in Eastern NC, and we had a warm spell about early to mid march. Temps hit the 80s so I thought to go out and till rake and drop some Bermuda seed. Since then it has gotten real cold again, but it is now getting back to the 60s and 70's during the day.
I am asking if I had ruined this batch of seed and need to start again? I do keep it watered when its not dumping buckets of water (so much I fear its washed some seed away). Or should I just wait and see what grows, and where it doesn't reseed?
Thanks for any help.

did you use sand with the seed?

As in, in the spreader? No.
The yard was well tilled and dragged out, then I seeded and raked over.

I am not a seed expert but there is two kinds of bermuda and one has a hull. I think that one will hang around for awhile. And by the way I still say you got to wait until it gets into the 90F to get it up. I know Ric says gnd temp needs to be such and such but you can be confident when it is 90F.

Just got back in from walking the dog this morn and while we were out we saw sprouts popping, heavier in some places then in others, but all in all it seems to be growing. At least I hope this is the Bermuda and not the rampant crabgrass coming back to haunt my summers XD.
Next question, come fall do I fert new growth or let it be? I had some pH tests done and soil comes back neutral.
Thanks for the previous input guys :)
