Assume what? I wasn't assuming anything. I know you don't know anything about landscaping, hence "I'm am not a landscaper."

Oh, I get it now, I thought you were saying I planted trees and used them plastic rings, which I have, but so far there still alive, but they are at my house so its no big deal..

the plastic is not good at all for the trees.. it prevents water from getting to the root system....

We had a wind storm in the fall and a big locust up rooted and it had plastic around the base of the tree and the roots were rotted.
