Picked up my new Z597 today.

27hp DIESEL:weightlifter::weightlifter::weightlifter:
62" Rear discharge deck.. shes a monster and i cant wait to cut with it.
She'll be cutting 65-70 acres of parks with a bit of help from her little sister in the back ground.

The last picture really shows the size diff between the z400 48" 19 kawi and the the new one.:weightlifter::canadaflag:

I was offered the aerating for a few soccer fields and a couple of the parks i cut. I know this mower has the power to pull anything if i put a hitch on it but does anyone know if there is an effective tow behind aerator on the market... maybe with a ton of led or weight on it?

I don't own a tow behind aerator, but do rent and its on the purchase list. I'm not sure what brand the tow behind I normally rent is. But throw some weight on it and it'll work good. I'd go for the jobs if I were you.

I think Bluebird and Ryan both make engine-driven pull behind aerators, as does Plugr. I would definitely go that route vs. a lightweight ground-driven aerator.

And that new mower is HUGE. I guess it's mostly for sport fields and parks? I can't imagine taking that on a residential lawn.

damn what's up with the wheels and tires on the 48" toro? Looks like they're a few sizes too small.

I dont know, i bought it two springs ago and it almost seems like the z400 built before and after my year had the bigger wheels with the lower profile tires.... beats me

i would think the rear discharge would shoot all the grass into the belts on the belly of the mower

With that kind of acreage why didn't you go with a 66" or 72"? I love diesels but I really think that they are too heavy for a ZTR. Should to great on fuel though.

the 62 will work good on my other commercial and large estate where a 72 would be a bit big. but thats just an excuse.... the real reason is price. When i signed the contract i went browsing at my dealer in the fall last year. He only had one mower left and he needed it gone. plus it was demo'd by our local university for 19 hrs. paid 12,900 list is 16000 (CDN PRICES):canadaflag::hammerhead: ever since i got my 2500 duramax ive had a fetish for diesels so that helped too.
If i get the school contract next year im going to get a used 10 1/2' toro 455D and do the school fields and parks with that and clean up with the 62, and have the 48" do residentials and small commercial. that is "the plan"

very nice looking mower. i have noticed many companies making rear discharge now for use on public grounds for safety reasons etc. i have never seen one cut and would love to see the cut quality and discharge of one. if you think of us when you areout cutting snap some pics showing what you are cutting and how it is doing. thaks for sharing dude!
