Found a nice size logging job going on, broke through the locked gate and closed my eyes for the 3 keep out signs... that's how I roll.

So lots of neat equipment and some huge size logs.

I sure would have fired up one of those 320 Cat's and pounded the T300 Bobcat into submission, that's all, then just leave while giggling.

nah it would have been more fun to grab it with a skidder, take it for a couple mile drag through some brush.... well it would have made a good youtube video LOL

Dam, thats even bigger than how we log..

I bet they didnt fall that big timber with that Tigercat. I know a logger thats fell logs not that big and about laid one of those over in a swamp up the road from my house..

And all you needed was a dozer skidder and yarder and you woulda had all the equipment the guys in Ax men use.. :cool2:

I've never seen a 6 wheel skidder, a delimber like that, or trucks that beat up running around my part of the crap state of CT.

well minus the beat trucks lol, the company that clears a lot for us has fleet of tigercat equipment and they have 6wheel skidder too. Their trucks are much better though, all late model Kenworth W900's.

I'm from South-Central CT so that's probably the reason for the difference in equipment. Around here guys will clear lots by either cutting everything with saws and ripping out the stumps or knocking the trees down with an excavator or something and then cutting the stumps off.

Ic, funny how different things can be so close. I don't think these guys even own a chainsaw anymore, all mechanized felling, delimbing. They got some expensive equipment but they can really clear an area fast. I'll see if I can find some pics of their excavators, they have the special forestry machine packages. Really toughens them up, the door panels are like 3/8" plates. I think the 330C weighs about 102,000lbs with this package.

Yea. Most guys down here are only clearing a few lots every once in a while so it doesn't pay to have equipment like that.

Personally I knock down everything I can with dozers and excavators and then anything that needs to come down that is bigger than can be easily done that way gets taken down with a saw.

Those Tigercat skidders with the 6x6 drive are a beast of a skidder a contractor in the area has one. You don't see many stroke delimbers here or loggers chipping the branches and debris.

Lots of Cat iron on that job no real Forestry excavators thou just standard construction machines.
