I read the mant posts about redoing an exisitng lawn. Thaks guys.

My question is, I plan to aerate the lawn, remove the cores, add topsoil and than seed , fert etc.

Do I need to remove cores?

Will adding topsoil (customer request) help germination process?

Thanks

Remove the cores? For what? The only thing these cores are removed on are golf greens. Your cores will simply dry up and crumble.

a.) Don't remove the cores

b.) Adding soil is probably a good idea; your objective is to maximize seed/soil contact.

1) why are you renovating the lawn?
2) why are you adding soil? if the lawn is graded and leveled ok you have no need to mess with it.
3) do not remove soil cores.
4) i posted the proper steps to renovating a lawn a few days ago, hopefully somebody will have the link.
