Went to a very unpopular dealer today to look at bed edgers and they seem to be desperate because there selling almost every brand out there. Hustler, Scag, Toro, Snapper, Grass hopper, Red hawk, and even selling used epuipment. I Was looking at the red hawk 32'' and thought it wasnt bad for a 32'', Then i looked at the price and was blown away at how cheap they are.1300$ for a brand new 36'' belt driven walk behind. The only down side was the briggs motor but still an awsome deal. Abyone use these mowers?
heres a picture of the exact model i looked at

Chinese piece of crap. Sold under many different names through the years, but always a piece of crap. Currently available under at least 5 different name brands.
First was built in Ky. as Black Rock mowers. Then sold as Landscaper Supply brand. Then designs went to China and it reappeared under numerous names.

If you buy one of these, than you better buy $1300 of asprin as well cause you are going to kick you a** everyday you use it. They really are not built well, and their flaws will become evident within a few months.

For the money I would say its a good deal and unlike most will tell you, they are a decent mower for the money. Yes they are a China made product but so is everything else in your home and probably in your driveway. China does make good products if they didn't nobody would shop at Walmart. I'm 100% buy American and I'm a dedicated Toro customer but I get tired of everyone on this site bashing anyone who asks about Redhawk or any other mower they deem as not worthy. Do a search on this site and many others that are out there and you will find many very satisfied customers of Redhawk mowers. I'm not saying they are the same as Toro, there not but take a good look at a Scag and they look to be pretty much the same except for the color which I prefer Redhawks red since its the same as my Toro's.
This site could be a great site if only everyone would quit bashing anyone who asks about another mower other than the preferred Toro, Exmark, Scag, Hustler, and so on. Not everyone has deep pockets or is willing to go into debt to get the best mower out there with all the bells and whistles. Are there bad mowers out there, sure and that should be brought to everyones attention but there are also decent mowers out there that don't cost an arm and leg to buy. Redhawk is a decent mower I have read 100s of reviews from very satisfied customers and many more post on this site from people who actually use them and are happy with them. About the Briggs engine, There just as good as any other engine. Their Vanguard engine is one of the best engines around.
Please use this site to provide a good service for all who need it. Leave your bias at home.

That deck isn't floating, one really good bump and the front caster's leg can bend your deck. Looks like a bad design to me.
I'd totally get that or the 1900 hydro version if I were just starting out and need and entry level. Other than that, I don't see the point. I do hear it leaves a good cut.
Beats the troybilt 33 I started out with 12 years ago by a mile, and I paid 1300 then. Thing just won't quit though, I lent it to a friend for the year. For some reason I got a problem free piece of junk. You see I can't killl it. Maybe my friend will.

The deck will not bend and the front caster wheels are mounted in the same way as my Toro walkbehinds with fixed deck. Redhawks decks are 7 gauge and will handle a lot of abuse. If you think the way they are mounted is incorrect maybe you should contact all of the other manufacturing company's out there and tell them their wrong.

I noticed that after I posted last night. I guess I've never paid much attention to walkbehinds. :hammerhead:

I got a 32" red hawk mower last year for 1,000 delivered to my door off eBay. I used it for residential with small gates in the back. The mower has all the same universal parts as many name brand mowers who get their parts from China. The only difference between Red Hawk and name brand mowers is that Red Hawk is assembled in China and name brand mowers are assembled in U.S. with China parts. I've only had this mower for a year and I've had no problems with it. It's already been through hell and back and works great. I will let people know if it turns out to be a piece of ****, but like I said I only really use it on residential with small gates. It's a good little tool to have in your arsenal.

I purchased a 48" belt drive 2 summers ago to cut 1 1/3 acres at my home. the parts ar no different than a 5,000 mower, it has a 18 HP Kohler Command for the engine, and i have had no problems with the mower, and it leaves nice stripes. I am only a home owner, but i do take pride in what my lawn looks like.
