Ok, here is the information that I know

Engine is running lean
Fuel filter and plugs were changed last year and filter is clean
half of the center electrode and all of the side electrode are white
Plugs are out of a Kohler CH25S engine.
They are the right plugs, Champion RC12YC
All the cooling fins on the engine are clean.
Gas I'm running is Racetrac
There is no high speed adjustment on the carb, only low speed

Anything I can try to get this engine running cooler?

Hmmm,

Does this engine have the SAM ignition system (black box mounted on the blower housing) ?

If it doesn't the only things that come to mind are a leaking intake gasket, A restricted muffler (baffle broke loose inside) or a partly sheared flywheel key which is not very common on these but anything is possible.

I'm ruling out the carb since you made no mention of hunting while running....

Are all shrouds in place? If some part of it is missing, that could affect cooling.

As for helping it run cooler, switching to synthetic ought to give you a 5-10 degree drop. I saw a 10 degree drop in a 12.5 Kaw going from 30W petroleum to 10-30 synthetic.

I'ts obviously got a problem. Although I'm not familiar with your specific engine, ignition or carb problem I would think....and that isnt a 10 degree oil change problem.

Problem with that, it burns oil, I'm trying to find the right oil meaning the brand that it like, plus, it has almost 3000 hours.

Muffler is loud, sso I don't think it is restricted. I think it has that black box, has some wire running to it and from. Intake gasket? Can I spray something in between the head and block and notice an RPM difference?

Oh, it has a tough time when you engage the blades it bogs down a lot then catches back up even when the engine is hot, I have a real problem with that on cold mornings.

If it runs don't fix it, machines with that many hours get like that,
they usually also like to be handled a "special" way.

As for oil, try going up 1 step in viscosity...
So if you're using 10w-30 try 10w-40 instead, and so on.
Thickening that up might help with the burning.

Unless you're already on 20w-50 :p

head gasket is prob. bad
