My dealer says that running high lifts will steal 1-2 hp form the engine- is this true and if so is it even noticable? Will be running 14 kawi 22 kohler and 27 l/c Kawi. I know theres a ton of stuff on here about blades but I haven't seen this brought up yet.

Yes this is true. It is somewhat noticeable. Might lose drag race.

Running H L's will drag the engine a bit. Especially if you are a big man on a small mower like me.

I've run H L's on a 25 Kaw and a 12.5 Kaw. They both had a problem doing what they were supposed to. Noticed it most when I was in either heavy grass or using them with gators on a double set up. Doubles ( H L & Gators) on my 12.5 Kaw would just not pull me and go up a slight incline.

Love them for what they do however- nothing pulls up pine cones, garden hoses, colered straws and almost everything else like High Lifts.

Cordially,

It can be quite noticeable. When you engage the blades it takes them a little longer to get up to speed and it can bog the mower a little more in thick grass.
