I have a restaurant property that I will be taking care of this year, where the sod was laid last fall. Right now it looks pretty hairy like it grew some, but was never cut.
The sod also looks pretty bad in spots.
Wondering how you would go about getting this turf off to a good start this spring.
Should I cut it now or wait for it to green up?
I am thinking about some starter fertilizer to jump start it.

Well, A good trimming of the tops of the grass blades would be in order for right now, what I mean is to set your mower to it's highest cut and just trim off the tops of the grass, then in another week take it down some more, if you do to severe of a cut your grass will have a yellowish look to it for a while until grows up some, Once you cut it then apply a good fertilizer(granular) I myself use Lilly Millers Ultra green pro.... I find it works real well.
