i just ordered a bobcat transmission belt for my 48'' WB. I got the old belt off with no problems but the new one doesnt seem to fit. It is about 1 mm smaller than the old one but the old one was streched and kept slippimg. I can not figure out why this new belt wont fit if it is practically the same size. Any sugestions on how i could get this belt on or stretch it a tiny bit to fit it on??

Is there an adjustable idler pulley under there ? If there is, you will have to adjust it to tighten the belt, or loosen it to get the belt on.

i loosened it but the belt doesnt seem to fit still. It would be fine once on there because it would set into the groove but i cant get it over the lip of the groove

Most of your typical walk behinds have a slot on the engine deck that a carriage bolt slides along. The slot will be a couple of inches long. The carriage bolt is what holds the idler pulley on to the bottom of the deck. Once you have loosened the bolt, you should be able to move the idler pulley along this slot. You should be able to put the belt on and then slide the idler back in place and tighten it up.
