I have a 14 hp kawi on a walk behind and its hard to start when cold . I think it might be the valves needing adjusting. Not sure though. Once it starts it runs good and starts easy but the first time when cold is hard . Any ideas ?

Before I messed with the valves, I would Clean the Carburetor Thoroughly, may not be getting enough fuel in there until you crank & crank, then once she starts you have enough vacuum to keep the fuel flowing.

Common problem, restricted jets inside Carb.

Clean carb and replace its seals. Put E3 spark plugs on it and go to work...
