A homeowner association wants a quote for sweepin the front of every yard. It is about 6' in on each side of the road. The road is 1 mile long. I will rent a walk behind sweeper. Any idea on how long this would take?

Try breaking it down per home. Say, for example, there are 20 homes and you could basically estimate it taking around an hour per home yourself. So you know you'll have 20 hours just in the homes alone. Maybe some areas are larger in size or have more cleaning/sweeping to do...add additional time. So now estimate about 22-25 hours so you don't underestimate. So take those 22-25 hours x your labor rate. Now slightly reduce that price because of the bulk labor/work you'll be doing.

I just did a sand job...just like yours 6' in from the road. I completed the job in 4 hours. I estimate the footage to be about 400 linear, feet. I used my Stihl power broom with rubber paddles for the grass and bristles for the street. I also had my Kubota BX24 with front end loader to haul sand away to the woods behind the house...figure lots more (time and $$) for hauling sand away.
