I was wondering if anyone is working this September 11th?
On September 11th I was on my way just past Earle Navel base when my girl friend called to tell me the first plane ran into the WTC. I could see the smoke across the Hudson River coming towards New Jersey. I have a lot of customers who work in New York. My customers that I did see were flipping out. Thankfully no one I knew passed away. My uncle is a Retired Lt. Coronal in the army. I was thinking about taking off that day forever. Once I talk to him a plan to donate some time at the Fort that he works at doing some planting cutting etc. Give me some feedback and ideas on what I should do.

I was in the middle of doing several residential accounts when I started hearing radio reports on plans hitting buildings. Thought to myself "Man I hate to miss any update... wonder whats going on."
Finanly heard a complete story and by the eend of my work day I sat glued in front of the TV w/ my wife & son.
Never forget it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the government made 9/11 into some kind of "holiday". Maybe not the same as Memorial Day, but something along those lines to remember the almost 3000 people that lost their lives.
Guess we will have to see...
I hadn't really thought about it until now. I guess I had planned to work, but I will see how things are come September. Once I heard the news on 9-11-01, I didn't feel as though cutting grass was too important. The country was under attack. I cried for a week watching the news.

I will work on my birthday next week and I will work on 9-11-02. Mainly because that is THE busiest time of the year with fertilizing, aerating, mowing. I work on Sundays about half of the time. Maybe in a few years I will slow down but I doubt it.

I was going to say the same thing. We will never forget, but we must also move on and look forward to tomorrow.

I didnt work on Sept 11th 2001... I was on my way to work when my Mom called and said turn on the TV.. Quick.. I did and it was all down hill from there... My wife worked a few blocks away from there and I couldnt get in touch with her.... So I was freaking all day untill about 2 or 3pm when she finally got in touch with me on someones cell phone..... Talk about an ulser.... Stress... I dont even think I worked the following couple of days.... Even one of my cousins was in the building on the 78th floor I think.. and the lucky dude and his friend went down to get breakfast when it happened , so they thankfully made it out OK....
I dont really know if I'll work that day or not... It' s good to give rememberance and tribute to all those we lost , but on the other hand its' also not good to let the terrorist s win !!! But I dont think they did .... They lost in a big way... We won.. We have gotten stronger for it and come closer together as a nation...

I am in the Navy full time and have my lawn business part time, which I will be doing full time when I retire in June 2003. When I heard of the attack on 9/11, I was getting my records from my squadron so I could deploy to Bahrain (small island in the Persian Gulf) on 9/14. I had my trailer with me cause I had some work to finish up before I let my sub take over my accounts while I was away. During the day on 9/11 I continued to work, but I called my wife a few times to get updates. I just got back from Bahrain and it is good to see the country getting back to the way it was before 9/11. The country has to try to get back to the way things were, otherwise the terrorists win. I will be working on 9/11/02 because I work almost everyday (unless it is raining).

I will work, but not forget.
I remember the loud silence of the sky the following days after 9-11. Air traffic background noise has become a part of modern society, it was odd not hearing it.
9-11 will be similar to Dec. 7th 1941. It deserves immortality.

Yes it was weird coming home at night and not seeing any contrails.

Yes,... we must go on our daily lives on 9/11/02. Or else
them" BASTERDS "will think they have done something.
Just have a moment of silence to yourself & remember
the lives that were lost & the families that lost loved
ones do to the 9/11/01 attack. Just my $.02 cents....

The events of 9/11 will be in our minds forever. I think it is good to remember those who died on 9/11 by going on with our lives. Stop to gather your thoughts about the sacrifice those people made, then go on and work to support yourself and your families on 9/11.

I never work on my birthday 9/11/70, what I mean is I show up at my full time job but I don't do a whole lot. A day that I will always remember.

Those people that were killed or severely hurt don't need everyone sitting at home sobbing over them every September. Feeling sorry for ourselves doesn't do a Godd_mn thing. The responsibility of the people now is to pay absolute retribution to the subhuman pieces of trash around the world that only want us dead. If we let them change our day-to-lives in any way they win. On September 11, 2002 we should be cornering them in their caves--not hiding in ours. Mow away.
