Hi guys new here I just bought a bobcat 334 excavator and the rotation is very slow and weak. The blade is also slow and weak while the rest of the hydraulics seem to have good power any ideas? I have no manual for this machine so I'm kinda shooting blind I was hoping someone here had some insight as to what to check. I'm gonna change the filters and go from there I guess. Thanks

oh boy.....hydraulics. first thing i would do is take it to a service shop and have them do a simple diagnostic test on your pumps. with that test you can make a determination. save your money and don't buy filters yet......

Sounds like you have pump problems. I am not sure what runs on the same circuit on a BC but I will bet the swing and dozer blade are on the same one. I would get it in to be looked at and don't run it any more than necessary. If the pump did go, your likely spreading contamination throughout the system since the filters quickly plug when you have major pump failure.

yep the gear pump is toast. No one knoes anything about these pumps do they cause it seems bobcat removes any identifacation from the pump so I can't even try and get this one rebuilt

You might try Heavy Equipment Forum, there are a couple of sharp BC mechanics that hang there. They might have some information for you.

Throw it on the trailer and take it the nearest Kubota Dealership for trade.

Bobcat=good boat anchor....I let our local bobcat saleman quote me a grapple bucket..overpriced as I expected and a attitude that he could care less if he sold one or not....things must be good a doosan.

maybe its just you. both bobcat dealers I called were willing to bend over backwards to try and get me up and running again

If you can find a good hydraulics shop that should be able to rebuild it.

Here we have had a few ASV drive motor pumps rebuilt by a local place. It is 1/2 the price of the factory reman unit. Doesn't have any markings on it either, but they can figure it out. Just makes it a bit trickier.

Hopefully the rest of the system is alright still..

yeah we got one close but the one guy that knew anything was in the hospital and the others I talked to wouldn't touch it with out an ID tag. Any how it was just the gear pump and I already got one and got it replaced and everything else seems to be in good shape so its back to work
