Just checking numbers..............I am a one man, part time landscape company. What does anyone in a comparable situation pay for liability insurance? I am looking to change mine, so if anyone could recommend a insurance company if would be appreciated.

I am with my second Insurance company and they based it on gross income you expect to make in 1 year, at the end of the year I get a audit sheet that I have to fill out and turn in. Doing light landscaping, no digging with skid steer below 6", snow removal, mowing, chemicals was fee is 1.5% when I added tree removal it went to 3.5%

im with state farm and have half a million at the moment.

its set up for mowing, light tree work, cleaning gutters, and shrub trimming it is 45 a month i believe.

Going to have to add chemicals to it this year though.

FYIState Farm would not insure me when I told them I was starting chemicals and tree removal. I got a quote from my broker and same policy with them was cheaper than state farm.

OOH, When you talk chemicals then the insurance company talks money.
I am with nationwide but for liability it is with. TAPCO They underwrite chemical applicators.
Not sure about tree removal since I don't do that.
But if you fess up to other than normal mow and go . Expect to pay more per payroll.
BTW for chemicals and mow and go one man operation with $1M I pay about $900.00 per year.

Our State Farm agent said they didn't offer a commercial liability policy for the landscaping business. I'm with Pekin now and have been for awhile and they have great rates but not sure if their available nation wide.

They charge by sales. I'm getting 1.6% of sales. So every $1000 in sales I pay $16.
