As of posting this I have a few hundred posts, so I am not techinically new to the site.

I'm 18 year old senior. I started my biz about 3 years ago with a 60.00 Murrey Push Mower, but now as you can see have expanded. I live along the coast in Cajun Country Louisiana. As of now I have about 30 accounts and plan to go full time this summer.

I have my occupational license, and private pesticide applicator's license. I plan on going to night or summer classes for landscaping and turf building.

Nice Gravleys. How do you like them?

I love them. Probably not the fastest, but they give a beautiful cut. That ZTR has over 2300 hrs, and runs like nobody's business. I also have GREAT dealer support here for them.

I SOLD MY TRAILER TODAY!

Thats right everyone I did it. That trailer I put sooooooo much work in. The story about this trailer is my neighbor's husband left her after I think like 30 yrs of marriage. He was a "collector" so I offered to clean her yard for her, and he had this trailer and another in their. I sold the other one for her, and she gave me this one. I spent about 500.00 fixing it(replaced the side, new boards, painted, axle, tires, rims, jack, lighting kit) and then through the years added my racks etc.

I sold it for 900.00. Do you guys think thats a good deal?

Also looking for a 16' trailer now.(I'm using my dads trailer right now)

Mudder,

I bought it with a Fram(I like it though). I wish I could get a Flowmaster.

Yes I'm a gravely fan, but I'd be willing to try another brand eventually.

Man, you make you a nice cage to go on the front of your trailer you will be in business. I saw how you have your gas cans on there. Saturday was hell, miserable rainy day all day, then it started pouring down around 4 or so. And one of my gas cans blew off the trailer, yes it blew out, it was empty a nice 6 gallon red jug. The guy that was with me emptied the last of it into the toro 2 cylce, I wish he wouldn't have done that. Hade a water bottle for a cap on it, that is my secret pattent I need to do. lol I plan on getting my cage built this week. So busy, hardly anytime.

I know I'm looking for a welder to build me that cage now.
Check out Craig's List, I got a nice complete set-up for $450.00 used. Lincoln 140 Mig-Welder with a Self-darkening helmet, Tank and some extras.
I had to fix the length of the feed cable, it was to long and the wire was binding at the tip. Simple fix though just cut it of a little at a time until it worked correctly. I am finally done with my cage for my little trailer it came out great. I just need to mount it back on the trailer ( I took it of to paint it red like my trimmer traps.) Nice rig! Good luck, David

I looked on CL and I got a welder, but when he told me that the price would be 400.00 thats too much. I can buy a toolbox for a 4th of that. Thats half of what I paid for the trailer.

LouisianaLawnboy

You got the cage done yet???

Nah, I decided not to. It would have cost 400.00+, so I skipped out and found a full size toolbox on CL and put in the back of my truck.

That JD in the back is it restored? I like those tractors that have been restored, they always look so good when they are done.

Hey guys I got my front cage done a while ago but just now got around to mounting it back on my trailer. I think it will serve me well for the next few years. I am going to get the final pictures of how it came out on the original post. Check it out. I will get the photos on right now.

I wasn't intending to do so. just you had mentioned that you where thinking of getting a welder and fabricating your own cage. Well for $200 or less in materials you can make yours just what you want. Sorry if you feel I did you wrong but I just thought you might want to reconsider getting a welder and doing it your self? Good for you that you have a good machine with good dealer support for it ... however, I 'm curious how many hours it had on it when you bought it ... and what you paid for it ??

I'll have to get some pics of the truck, but I'd rather St. Augustine over those Northern grasses.

Exmark was my former username. But nice lake front property haha. Is the grass down there dormant for the year now?

St augustine is all hard and crunchy like our grass here when someone doesn't water for a week :hammerhead: my yard is watered via irri system usually every day depending on the weather at 3- 4am and is very plush and green :p
