The best part of that job is hopefully the satisfaction of a pleased customer. That bed looks real nice. Definitely a huge improvement.

I am not a fan of that dyed wood chip/mulch..... or the landscape fabric.... or the flower layout.... but it looks much better, and the install looks well done. And as others said, if the customer is happy and pays quick... thats what its all about. Good job

Is the mulch still going to be on that slope after a hard rain?

I was 5 minutes too late to ask the same thing. I learned the hard way about putting mulch on a sloped ground and hard rain. and the slope wasnt as steep as that at all. It looks better but after a few rains, not much mulch will be left.

What happens when it rains? I can't get mulch to stay on a 10% slope on my property. Your work looks good, a real improvement, but a spreading groundcover (ivy, vinca, sedum) might have required less upkeep.

Looks awesome by my standards, I love the red mulch. Most people don't but I do.

That does look better than before. But I do hate red mulch as well, and since most that I've seen is all hardwood will no fines I would say that all will be on the sidewalk in no time. Especially since you put down a weed block, the mulch has nothing to "bite" into. Just my two cents, good job though.

Well i hope it stays in place.I put it on pretty thick especially at the top....but if it does slide in a heavy rain, ill be there to fix it...and if its really bad then ill have to come up with a way to keep it up on the slope....I'm thinking maybe some 2x3 wood going across the length of the bed every few feet held in by anchors....Ill wait and she what happens...they still want some more planting in the bed so ill be around...

Thank's alot !! I also like it myself...I think it brings out the other plants really well and it just shouts "look at me !! " .... but some people dont like the color...i think either red, brown, black would look good there anyhow...

It would have stayed better in the rain without the fabric..just weed it good, throw down some Snapshot. Dyed mulch doesn't hold slopes as well as natural aged shredded. I thought I was the only guy had a (1) customer that still wanted red mulch......and I don't do Wendys resturants.....lol

I hate landscape fabric, I only use fabric under stone.

Nice job though.

Overall though, it's a great improvement. Could have picked better plants as well.

Tell the customer to just throw away that old wood, it serves no purpose. Those weeds in the beds, they look familiar, can't remember the name but they are very hard to get rid of. I imagine you will be seeing those weeds again and again.

Snaphot is granular....like Preen. I would still shoot everything (except the plants) with roundup. Then some sprinkle on some Snapshot/Preen and back over with the mulch.
