Ok, ive got 500 sq. ft. to renovate. I plan to rototill and then smooth out existing dirt. Im putting down st. augustine and the cost is $207 per pallet. What would you guys charge? I'm thinking somewhere in the $475 range. Is that too cheap?

Not a bad price, almost $1 a sq ft.

10 yards topsoil delivered would cost me around 200.
You are giving them a good deal.

Seems like I always get beat on small sod jobs. I would figure that between getting the sod, prepping, laying, rolling and clean-up that it is going to take most of the day. 8 hrs. x $50 per hour plus materials so maybe $600. But get whatever you can. A little bit of something is better than alot of nothing.

jimithing,
thats unreal!! nobody around here grows st augustine so the dealers have to get it shipped in from further south. so do you all think that i should ask $475 or is that too little or too much?

If that is correct you are only charging $5.00 a yard to spread it?

We charge $1 per square foot for Bermuda, which is the most common sodded turf grass here.
