forgive my ignorance but does the 2nd gear being out of the scag make it likely for another gear to go out? also how many gears does it have? sorry i do not know anything about a walkbehind i have never used one theres only like one person in my area that has one. but i am interested in a nice used one to use in some places on a few properties i maintain. thanks.

Any gear can go out on a machine.....I used it as a back up for 2 years with no other problems. I purchased the machine with the gear out and it hasn't gotten any worst with the other gears....
