I am going to try to get my Country Clipper Jayzee 1 ready for the season this weekend. I have a lot of sticks scattered all over the lawn, and want to install a metal shelf above the motor. The shelf will hold a basket I can throw sticks in as I go. I know the "bagging system for the mower sits above the motor, so I figure this could work too. Just not sure how much air space the engine needs above it. It is a B+S 18.5 hp. Any ideas? Thanks, Brian

Have you tried googling for a picture online with a bagger installed? That might give you ideas of height and mount points.

The only pic I can find is on the manufacturer's web site. It is so small it isn't too clear, but I'm guessing about 5" between bagger and motor. Thanks for the idea, it is probably good enough for my project. Brian

Here's a high resolution one. Save it then you can zoom in.

BTW, that one came from a recall alert. You might want to check if it applies to you: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml04/04568.html

Thanks! That is a much clearer photo. I should be able to get an accurate estimate from it. I don't have the grass collection system, or I could use the container it has. It cost almost 2K. I am planning to assemble my shelf and basket from discarded stuff, except for the nuts and bolts.
