Looks good but I think the wheels would look much better in silver, not keen on white wheels

Maaco? I guess that's why you took the picture from 50 feet back? lol. Sorry, just heard WAY too many horror stories about maaco paint jobs. Usually them falling off the first time you hit it with the pressure washer at the car wash... BUT, it's a work truck, I know there's no sence at all in spending thousands of dollars on a custom paint job. If it gets messed up, do it again in a few years and keep it looking "fresh".

I don't mine the white wheels. Better then rusty grey... But I don't think it's bad to spend the money on simulators either. Chrome wheels would really dress that truck up. Yeah, it's a work truck, but you are obviously proud of it, or else you would have drve it with the yellow/orange/rust paint job! Another $225 for polished stainless sims would really set it off. There's a guy on Ebay that sells damn nice ones for about that price, your may be less sice they are smaller. I put 19.5" sims on my 3500HD and they look awesome. Looks like a brand new truck.

White wheels or not, the truck looks 100% better than it did. Did you get a plow with the truck when you purchased it or no?

Looks great, if you did most of the prep work on the truck, the paint job should last quite a while. That is the most important part of painting a vehicle. Even so it should be good for what you need it for. I like the wood with all the black & white, keep the wheels. Nice job!!

I like the white wheels, very much. Clean and neat, very nice. I would be proud to call that my own!!

How much did maaco charge you? Did you do all the prep? Did you do the tape off/removal?

$350,00 and they did the prep work and painted it

$350!?!? Holy crap. That's insane. How can they make ANY money doing even half assed paint jobs at that kind of price? Taping off and even minimal prep work would take at least a few hours, and another hour or so to paint... Plus materials, and then clean-up. A "legitimate" paint/body shop would charge probably $1,500 for that.

I know macco has 4 different types of paint they use. Did you go with the cheapest one? It looks great! I need to have our 3500 dump painted too, I was holding off because I wasn't ready to shell out the money yet, but for $350 I can do that.

This is a Maaco paint job. Just under $900 including some fiberglass work on the rockers and cab corners. Below is a before pic.

Liesure Time, did they prime the truck or just scuff and spray?

I've had macco do work truck painting a few times. The point of them is that they are cheap, not that they do a good job, it's a work truck... so who cares. The only problem I had with them is that when I got the truck back there is always something like they forget to put back together like the head lights or whatever.

Another question Liesure Time, did you just have the cab and wheels painted or the whole thing? I just got a quote from the local maaco for our 3500 dump and it was $579. I was hoping for a better deal than that. lol
