I'm whipped! The first one is always the toughest.. isn't it?

Anyway.. I decided to try something different and went and bought myself a dump cart (10 cu.ft capacity) to pull behind my Z. It worked out well.. I feel a little less fatigued and I shaved some time off... 10 yards ~ 7 hours.

Anyone else use a cart?

I had been considering a dump cart this year... I have a helper, but he is mostly in the back of the truck shoveling.

how fast does your z go cause we can do about 15 yards of mulch in about 4 hours with two people and wheel barrows.

Yes.. I'm solo. When I'm doin' mulch I'm thinking the entire time.. How sweet it would be to have a helper shoveling :D

If you have a helper get a 17cu.ft. cart.. Yesterday when looking at carts I couldn't decide which to get.. I got the 10 because I didn't want to shovel 17 each trip.

amount of mulch that can be spread all depends on the job, how close can the mulch be dumped? what kind of mulch? how many plants in the garden? any hills? size of equip u are using, etc etc etc. yes that first day working is tiring, i know just how u feel, but its worth it once the money starts flowing in!!

Ha ha ha. I only have about 10 more cu. yards to go. I told all of my customers that I will mulch in late Feb. and early March ONLY. I don't have time once the mowing season begins. I did 12 or 13 yards in 8 hours one day but that is pushing it. I think a lot of the guys you hear spreading 2 or 3 yards an hour can back thier big truck up next to every bed and don't have to spread it around any plants. Either that or they are getting much smaller cubic yards than I do. I have found a 10 cubic ft. wheelbarrow with dual wheels works pretty well.

come on guys..... a yard of mulch is only 3 or 4 of those 2 wheel wheel barrels that hold 10 ft. Once the beds are cleaned (which only takes alittle while to blow em out onto the lawn where i can reach it with my z) I can crank some mulch out. me and the wife can move 5 yards in under 3 hours including the cleaning time.

One of the guys that works for me built a 1 cubic yard trailor he pulls behind his ATV. He and another guy can do up to 5 yrds in an hour with this rig. He's getting a nice bonus for this one.
