I was wondering how low you recommend mounting your new striping roller? I purchased one last week for my 52" Lazer HP and we normally cut between 2.5 and 3 inches. Obviously you wouldn't want to mount it too low as it would dig on the turns, yet not too high because you want it to actually make a difference? Thanks for your adivce.

Esby,

Sorry it took me so long to answer. The best result is to have the roller 1/2" to 3/4" of the ground. You don't want the roller on the ground when striping.

Thanks, Fred.

Have you had problems with it digging in on the sides when making sharper turns at that hieght?

Esby,

I cut at 3 1/4", the back edge of the deck is at 3" and the bottom of the roller is at 1 1/2" . Any lower and I find that I am digging in on a few lawns that I do at 2 3/4". Get a lock on your cutting height, and make sure the roller is at least 1" to 1 1/2" off the pavement or concrete floor. This will create beautiful stripes, and eliminate any gouging while turning into a berm.

Hope this helps!
