If you are talking about the one in the back of the second above picture, the narrow one, I would agree with JosephLawnCare and say hornbeam.

Nah, and considering the branching habit it could very well be hornbeam.

That's very interesting. I've never seen or thought of sheering a hornbeam. But hey, thanks for the info. Should they look like that? Or did the homeowner want them to look like that???

Most of the leaves should have fallen off. If there still there like in that pic it's most likely an oak tree.
That is an oak tree for shure, I have several of these trees on a property I mow. They wont get much bigger than that and they keep there leaves till late winter. Leaves are in the oak shape but much smaller than a red or white oak.
