Where is your water from?

How are you guys going about filling your tanks? I here a lot about using municipal water sources and getting fire hydrant hookups. I assume you guys arent just rolling up to your neighborhood fire hydrant and filling up are you? If so how do you go about getting permission to do that? Basically I'm only using about 1000 gallons a year, but my options are my well, or going to the quarry and paying them for me to pump my own water into my tank out of the lake. Anyone care to share?

I use my well... works great :)

For that little amount ,use your well with a back flow protection ,or just hook up a rain barrel.
