Business Name Change?

Has anyone ever changed the name of their business? Pro's or Con's? I have been in business for over 18 years and will eventually turn it over to my son and I am thinking of allowing him to change the name.....any thoughts? I do not see the current clients caring one way or the other....The only thing I can see is those who have already called for bids and did not accept for one reason or another, requesting an estimate from what they think is a different company......???

Yes

Pros: You get the name that you want and probably fits your co better

Cons: You have to change EVERYTHING!

It is somewhat of a pain... We changed our name several months ago and are still trying to get everything organized, switched over, etc.

While it is a hassle, I believe, in our case, at least, that it's more than worth the temporary headache!
