Went to a repair call for a system that kept blowing connections on the drip zones- Turns out no press. reducers were installed :hammerhead: Grabbed 2 (brand new in package) RBYs off my truck so I could fit them in the original valveboxes.

After installation they would drip out of the little white dots on either side when the zone was not running.
Run down to parts house and pick up 2 new ones, dig vb's back up (manifold is in two 33" valveboxes, 30" deep), install them- both of them drip. I called RB and they said "we must have had a bad batch, water should never come out of there"

Anyone else had any problems with these? What brand do you install/have good results with? I'm not using their junk anymore, no way am I leaving some dripping piece of garbage at a repair with my name associated with it. We aren't talking about a few drops either; steady dripping until the zone line emptied

Pic below for reference of the white dot.

Why not elbow up and install a filter within easy reach, and with unions, just in case?

The only problem I've had is with this one (http://www.rainbird.com/drip/products/control/backflushfilter.htm)....constant dribble and spit while the system is running after two years. disassembling and cleaning did not help. Also brought my attention to how small the filter element was.

Well I did install with unions from the beginning, but it still isn't fun.

Swapped them out for 4 new ones at a different parts house this morning, installed 2 of them, they leaked just as bad, so I sucked it up and redid the zone lines/boxes and installed the old 2 piece regulator/filters. Took some pics with my blackberry to send to Rainbird. I can understand a problem here and there, but 6 in a row?

Googling Amiad...

Having never used those critters, what's the purpose of the 'white dots' anyway?

Might be a little big for a single drip line.

True......

I do have some drip lines hooked up to it, though.
