Please help me with Insurance; Mine's a bit messy.

I justed passed the Commercial Applicators and I am changing my Commercial insurance. I use Nationwide, and I was paying $65 per month for lawn mowing, and my trailer, two John Deer mowers. Basically that's it as far as equipment insured under my commercial policy. I was paying my only truck/work truck on a private policy at which was basic liability $70 per month.
I knew I would be adding Commercial Pesticides to my commercial insurance, just took me longer that I thought to get around to it.

As a semi solo, what can I expect to pay for insurance.
Ill be adding 100 gal Skid.
My guy doing my insurance, said this is his first one!! ( Commercial Insurance /Pesticide applicator ) at nationwide??

I did a little shopping for different insurance; It was very hard for me to find an insurance comp. that didn't third party their commercial insurance out to some other party...

Thank You

good luck, most insurance companies don't offer this kind of insurance and have to farm it out.

one thing you will have to ask if you call a company from out of state is if they can sell in your state, they must be licensed by your states insurance commission.

Yes, After recieving my letter from Clemson, One get a list of providers of insurance companies that provide insurance. I have been with Nationwide for so long im giving him a shot. I hAve a feeling that he is going to come back with somthing like 2200.oo a year. which will lead me to a different insurance company.

I avg one ticket every 4 yrs. and thats worse case. I hear of report and quotes on here of $700.00 -900.00 a yeaR.. which was a lot less than what i was already paying for just mowing commericaly..@$150 per month. ouch..

Make sure you visit an independent agent. He can quote your ops with many different companies and find a good fit. Captives like State Farm generally are priced high.

If you are a solo op with no payroll, honestly your GL should be running you between $250-$500 annual including mowing, fert/squirts, landscaping, shrub trim, etc. GL is your most important coverage. As far as insuring your equipment, sure you want to do that? If you have a lot of high value stuff, go for it. If it is well used and worth less than you can afford to self-insure, don't waste your money insuring it.

thanks brother, Right now just finding someone to give me a quote is rather tuff. Nationwide is still working on their quote; going on 48 hrs.
Aye, I agree with you, Im only insuring my truck and my trailer and two mowers. Havent gotten a skid yet.

Definitely find an independent agent .I use Peerless for mine ,and I looked them up but they don't serve your state. You may want to check also with you DEC to see what amount of insurance you need.

Again, visit an independent agent. They can find a company that will cover fert and squirt GL, no problem.
