That is the only push spreader I would use. $625ish for a stainless steel w/ side deflector.

never used one, but knew a guy that ran a fert/squirt biz for a long time and eventually sold to chemlawn. that was all he used and he highly recommended one...just to steep for my budget.

I use a stainless with deflector .Makes it easier to laydown product on curbs and beds .but they are heavier and push alittle harder .If you put down a lot of spendy products , it will easily pay for it self .We have several corroded common steel spreader s.Ounce the handlebar section gets weak ,calibration is impossible.

Ok. Thanks for the help guys. That's a little more than I am looking to spend for now, but maybe in the future. They look really good so I thought I would ask. Also I use their fertilizer, and they have the application rates right on the bag for them. There aren't many other spreader settings on the back of the bag.

We run EarthWay. Not your typical chem guys spreader buy I like 'em. They do spread slightly heavy on the left side, but I've never noticed any adverse results.
As far as spreader settings on bags...we always calibrate according to individual "comfortable" walking speed. Although the setting on the bag gives you a reference point, 9 times out of 10 we don't set according to the bag. Earthway gives a general spreader setting calibration based off of what you are spreading...determined on product weight and size and I believe 3 mph speed. We normally start calibration from that point...

and oh yeah...a non-stainless model is around $284 - I think.
