These tiles are about 12 in. deep. SO I'm just not understanding why this is? Thanks

did you put them in?

Chances are that the backfill was gravel or sand and not 12" of loam.

Different seed over excavated trench?

Does green up later on in season?

I have this problem in my personal lawn from the idiot that lived here before me that installed them. He used perf pipe. So early spring those rows are brown then late spring they grow 10 times faster than the other grass. just give them a little time they will green up. Usually caused by backfilling incorrectly not enough soil and to much Pea gravel.

If they are really green in the summer chances are the tile is full of water and the tile is not draining. You use perf tile to lower the water table. So if this was the reason he installed the tile he really is not an "Idiot," but he may not of installed it correctly. Thus the tile stands full of water and irrigates the ground.
To Wiseguyslawn: you might try to till up a little and try sod in that area. Just a thought.

No he is a idiot. He wasn't trying to lower no water table he was trying to take the downspout water to the back of the lawn to the pond and he used perf pipe. I know it sits with water in it because he dug it out and and then layed sod over the top of the pipe with no fill so the sod roots have worked there way into the hole sin the perf pipe. He did 4 of these like that instead of connecting the 2 together on each side of house he layed 4 pipes all the way to the back of the house about 250' each:dizzy: I won't even go into the home made irrigation system he installed:dizzy: lets just say I went around and just unscrewed the heads and let the pipes in the ground it was that bad.
