View Full Version : Adding Hose To Z Spray

Guys, tough year so far competing with the grass cutters around here, but the spray side of my business is growing and growing very quickly! I can't keep up with my fert and everything else. I'm killing myself.
I want to get a ride on, and I haven't demoed anything, but the Z Spray seems to get high marks from everyone and they are located here in Indiana.
To the question, can I add extra hose to the standard 50' hose? I figure if I can add atleast an additional 50' of hose to give me 100' I would be able to take care of most of my back yards that I can't get into. The small Junior 36" doesn't have the air injected nozzles or whatever. This seems important to me because it's windy around here all the time and I'm already nervous about these low volume applications.
Thanks for the help.

Shoud be no prob. Hannay (hose reels) offers several sizes. Best bet is to call LT Rich, but I don't see any prob whatsoever.
Only question I have -- If you are using a ride-on, why the need for a long hose?

Why not spot treat the yards you won't fit in?

I have several properties that have a small 36" gate and they open up to 10,000 sq. ft. or so. I'm sure I could get by with the 50' and a backpack, I just wanted to check. Heck, I used to do it all with a backpack so I know I could handle it lol.
American, how much are those T3000 compared to the Z Sprays? They both look like great machines.

zspray is great, what about the new mini max, should fit those yards and then some, jsut athought that is all. whatever seems to be the best solution, but using the hose for that much area will not be very uniform AT ALL it is a touch up item only!!!!! you may be able to adapt withthe help from LT Rich to a different wand etc. my thoughts

My Z Spray has 100' of hose.
You just have to let them know and they will put it on instead of the 50'
Highly recommend the Z for both capacity, speed and effeciency!
I was sold on PG's and still think they are great, but Z is crazy fast and the capcity and spread width in awesome.
Can spread 5 bags of fert with my Z to my Dad's 3 bags with the PG. I beat him to the truck to fill. Tell me that isn't awesome!

How do you guys treat larger back yards that you can't get into? Do you just use backpacks or mount a small 50 gallon skid or something?

I think you'll find after you buy a Z-Spray that you have a lot of time on your hands. That machine gets it done FAST!! I own 3 of them now. If you have a lot of customers with the narrow gate, I would definitely talk with Andy at L.T. Rich. They know what you are going through first hand and can customize just for you. I first bought a Max, then a Junior. My latest was the Intermediate. With the choice of sizes we can catch over 95% of our lawns easily. There will always be a few that are just too goofy for equipment. You know...the kind you have to lift a mower over a wall...or can only barely fit a push mower in. Other than those, you'll be asking yourself..."Why did I wait this long to buy a Z"??

I can't wait to see one of these things up close in person. I can't really understand from looking at the specs what the difference is between the intermediate and the two juniors. Is the only difference between the intermediate and junior the hopper size?
The only difference I see between the two juniors is that the junior 36 doesn't have air injected nozzles. Where does the extra 5" go?

The total width affects nozzle spacing....therefore, no boom on the Jr. 36. Making it more narrow also affects stability. The minimax does not have a hose reel. Only a coil hose like the T-3000. I'm with the previous post suggesting a different wand and tip. I would have the 100' of 1/4 inch hose installed and put a wand with a teejet fan tip on to spray hard to reach areas. Like having an 18 gal backpack:laugh:
