thinking bout getting the gravely 160z it has 60" deck with 25 hp kholer...however it is only $5700 while all the other competitors are around 7000-8000 for their equivalent product. i beleive the gravely has 7 guage steel deck and 10 cc hydro pump...what am i missing and what is the best value on a rider. i have toro walk behind and may just get the toro zero turn.
help a brother out

pumps are kinda a small for a 60" but you'll be able to mow. may have to slow down in wet thick grass but you should be fine.

One of my riding ztr's is a Gravely 160. After two years and about 1000 hours operating in temps from 35*F to 115*F in Central Texas I haven't experienced one pump problem.
What you give up is some adaptability regarding front attachments, the front caster wheels are mounted on a non-pivoting yoke, lack of room for a decent suspension seat and there is no hydraulic deck lift.
For a bare bones, durable mower, mine has certainly proven capable.

I have the same mower. I love it. If you can get one for that, grab it up. I gave 7 for mine last year.

this mower is listed on ebay if anyone else is interested...i think the seller has a few at this price....also just picked up the shinindawa blower (the blue one that is a 4 stroke but runs on 2 stroke mix) it is pretty heavy but blows like hell

I just looked at the same exact model yesterday a guy in my area was selling. Had the 23 HP Kaw, hydro lift deck and a 3 bag bagger on it. He wants $2300 with 48 hours on it. Mower is about 6 years old. I think I'm gonna have to pop on this one.

It must be an 09 or earlier model because the 160 now has the 26hp Kawi. The 100 series are great mowers, and the zt-3400 hydros are very capable.

Yeah just looked on Ebay and that's an older model, they go for $6600-$7300 around here new.

I have over 900 hours on mine and love it. X-Factor deck is one of the best ever made in my opinion. Never needs to be scraped clean, cuts good, stripes good but it does not throw the grass way out the side like some mowers do. It will spread out about one stripes width and that's it. It also does pretty good on hills due to the fairly low center of gravity. It is a no frill money making machine.

EDIT: Are you talking about this used one? If so that does not have the xfactor deck.

How can you tell if one has a Xfactor deck. Would an 2006 Gravely 260z have it?

We have a 52" Gravely 152Z with a 23 Kaw and hydraulic deck lift. It is a terrific, tough mower. I'll put it up against our Exmarks any day, and the Exmarks don't have the hydraulic deck lift, which is a nice option.
