Hi all,
another one of those "be careful" threads, with pics. I was doing a yard clean up yesterday, taking out a stand of poplar suckers next to a house, evidently they were holding the window screen in place, I saw the screen falling toward the clippers and tried to save it, I saved the screen, but... well you can see the pics.
Should have let the screen get hit:laugh::laugh:
and just for fun, my toe which I broke earlier in the day.

nasty. i cut the meat on the side of my knee with my hedge trimmers. it laid it open pretty good but i just floped it back over, taped it shut and went back to work. i think the finger would be a lot more painful. at least it isnt your trigger finger.

Ahhh, you know I'm on the wagon.

Actually, I think I am pretty lucky. I learned a valuable lesson, and didn't lose my finger doing it. I have much to be thankful for. It didn't actually go all the way through the bone. If it had of, I don't think I would have found it easily.

13 stitches, from one fingernail to the other. They called it a circumfrential laceration with an open fracture, because it broke off part of the bone. It hurt like crazy last night, but is feeling much better today, except when I bump it or stretch to reach something.

I was very happy that I was able to work today.

Now I see the reason for something like that. Hindsight is 20/20:hammerhead::hammerhead:

It would be really easy to catch a thigh with the kind I have too.

OUCH!!! I could have gone the rest of the night without seeing the pictures though... But I knew there would be pics when I opened the thread, so it's my own stupidity.

Glad they were able to sew you back up. That will be a while healing for sure. One of those things that will haunt you for the next couple months...

I clipped a finger once too, but not that bad. Mine just got skin, but only about 1/4 the way around, to the bone. I *should* have had stiches I'm sure, but I was home when I did it and was able to clean it and dress it well, so I just used bandages and tape and kept it held together until it mended. Of course I'd forget about it about once a week and grab something and rip it back open... Sometimes you just have to have accidents like this to REMIND everyone, and yourself, just how dangerous equipment like this can really be.

Jecobs Crimany, you should have put a warning label sign on there first, not for weak stomachs, wounds like that are just as bad as watching open heart surgery.

I hope you feel better quick. I've been there. I hit my thigh once like you were talking about. It wasn't that deep. It just cut me slightly and it bruised like all hell. It makes me a little more careful now.

Lucky. At least you got to keep your finger!:p I had to have my right pinky finger amputated 7 years ago. Right hand got caught in a log splitter.

I feel pretty lucky to have my finger. I'm amazed it didn't go all the way through, just a bit of bone and fingernail held it on. I am kind of bummed. I went out mowing today, trimming was OK, as was edging and using the 21", but driving the T-bars was like slamming my finger in a door...again and again. Never realized how much I use my finger tips on that front bar.

OUCH!!!! OUCH!! I've slammed my fingers in the door on my moms van once, and I tell you what, that didn't feel good. But doing it again and again.
