Ditto -- are the forsythias or magnolias blooming yet. If not, you could wait a week or two.

Check the soil temps in your area, 50-55 degrees your goood to go.

I'd say it depends on how much you have to do and what product you're using...
If it takes you 4-6 weeks to get through a round then you'd probably better get started.
If this is your lawn only, or you can finish all accounts in a week or two then you certainly could wait probably a week or even two.
If you're using a prodiamine product you're probably fine going now as even moderate rates will last through our season here.
If you're using Dimension I would wait a bit as it doesn't go as long on the back end and you do get the early post-emerge control from Dimension.

I am about 60 miles north of Milwaukee in Wisconsin and will be starting mine in about a week. Last I checked the soil temps were about 45 degrees in most areas. I use Dimension so I rely on its post emergent properties.

I measured 55 in some areas yesterday and 45 in others. Wait much longer and you'll have break through in places. Split apps of Dimension is the best way to hedge this.

Started application yesterday. Still using "team pro" 18-0-0. I'm going to go to the Dimention next spring. Thanks.

I hope your doing 2 apps of "Team". That stuff won't last long at all. Less than 60 days residual.

Yep, I do 2nd around June 1 or so. Like I said, when this stuff's gone, I'm switching over to Dimension. Thanks.

I started Dimension/fert apps yesterday. A couple days of this unseasonal heat with lots of sun has me thinking I'd better get my apps down. I can do all of mine in a week, and with the rain predicted, thought this was as good of time as any.
I am just south of Rochester.

Atta boy DA -- it's time now. Or maybe wait until this round of thunderstorms passes through this weekend. After that, I would think even pre-M would do the job.
Right now, we're hoping for some rain so the morels will pop soon. We started applying Dimension on April 1st. We will continue to apply Dimension + fert until late May on existing customers. Our new customers will get pre/post/fert through July.
