Hello everyone,

Looking for opinions. How hot do you guys think is too hot to put down 34-0-0 nitrogen? Thanks.

Any slow release? if not I wouldnt go past 70-75 degrees, or past late spring. You can resume early fall. Would not reccommend a late fall feeding with this!!

Salt Index or SI, of 34-0-0 Ammonium Nitrate is 1 1/2 times greater than 21-0-0 or Ammonium Sulfate. 46-0-0 Urea is slightly higher than Ammonium Sulfate but almost equal. But the amount of Ammonium Nitrate you apply and water in will be the determining factor of Turf Burn. You can in fact apply small amounts of 34-0-0 all year long even in the heat and not burn turf if watered in. But you can also burn Turf in sub Zero temperatures if applied too heavy. 34-0-0 or NO3 is the fastest form of Nitrogen to be up taken by the plant and is generally use for fast Green up in the spring or force growing in a nursery.
