I need to spread some fertalizer on a lawn with alot of thyme, if it kills it, it wont be good. Should I just get fert with no weed killer or do I not have to worry about it?

im not paying someone to do something I can do myself. Why dont I hire someone to mow my lawn while Im at it.

Well, the reason to hire a licensed professional would be to avoid the 20K+ fines you may end up having to deal with. Besides the fact that a pro will have access to much better products than your granular weed and feeds.

Why pay a small fortune for weed and feed products when a pro may be able to do it for just a few bucks more with much better results?

In your first post you said "a lawn" which leads people to believe its a customers lawn.

Anyway, check the label. It will list the grasses that the herbicide is approved for use on. I'm not sure about your area, but for what we have available here, I have not seen any listed for use with Thyme. Therefore, for the products I have available to me, I would not use the weed control and use straight fert. I would check with your local lesco. They may know more about that specific type of grass and what they may have thats safe to spread on it.

Honestly, I didn't know there was a grass called thyme. It makes me think of the garden herb.
