Well, this year so far is off to a semi-good start. Got 3 maybe 4 new people this year, I'd like more, but people are fertilizing them selfs, doing mulch them selfs, and only want lawn mowing done. But I had a big clean up I've been working on. Here are a few pics.

OH NO. I keep my cover on the back, My grandpa was using the trailer, so I just took the cover off my truck, and as soon as I go dump the junk up at the city, it's going right back on.

I worked to hard, so I needed to buy a camper to relax in during the weekends. Bought it from my uncle for $650. When I went and got it a few weeks ago, I was still on the property, and blew a brake line, so I had to quick drive into Ludington to get it fixed for $160.

I came at Yankee Springs Gun Lake state park all the time. It's 8 miles from home, and our cottage is just on the other side of the lake. I do plan on venturing up to mears and maybe ludington, maybe grand haven or muskegon. I love camping.

Cut my lawn today, first lawn of the season, but that don't really count. A lot of hte neighbors try and race to see who is the first to cut the grass, and I beat everyone by a long shot. I didn't put to much time into it, and yes I need to trim, yes I need to put mulch down, yes I didn't get angled good enough to see the stripes, so stop nagging me.

Well, I'll explain to you where the first few pics are. It's a dentist office, and the parking lot is plowed by the city, but the dentist owns the building and the grass. All that is where the city front end loader wrecked the ground, and they had piles to big, so they had an excavation company come in and take away all the piles of snow. So I went and did a clean up, smoothed all the ruts and what not out. Then just as I finished up doing what the city did, they called and asked if they needed to go and clean up their mess. Oh well, more money for me.

I don't hardly ever put anything in the bed, only the blower, trimmer tool box and gas cans, everything else goes in the trailer, except the when I did a clean up a few weeks ago I put stuff in the back, cuz I didn't have my trailer, but that was the only time I wished I had a long bed, but I like the shortbed for plowing and at parking lots, I don't like things sticking out. My next truck will be a short bed as well.
Plus for this job I didn't need the truck or anything, because in the last 2 pictures you can see my house, not the brick house, not the one next to it, but the one next to that, has the camper sitting in it, so I just take the mower up the street, trimmer on the side, dont' need a blower, and if I need something, I just run threw the back yards to get it.

Yeah, that's cool. I couldn't imagine not having 8 feet of bed space, but if you don't need the length, then no sense in having the extra truck length to drive around in a world made for compact cars.

If I had an 8 foot bed, with a plow, on one of my driveways I do, I'm playing with 2 or 3 feet. With the extra 2 feet, and the reduced turn radius with the 4wd, one driveway I have to do a.....180 with the truck, and it's very small, so I like the short bed. I can deal with it. Just less truck I have to wax.

Not bad, I used my uncles snapper walk-behind with a sulky, 48 inch, and I actually like using my mower better, bigger cut, stripes better, plus with my simplicity it will turn on a dime as well, I bet I got that back yard done in under 10 minutes. I did 2 other lawns today too, I didn't have my camera, but I wish I did, I laid down some FRIKEN AWESOME stripes that would put those to shame.

One of my old neighbors bought a new john deere tractor and she kept trying to figure out how to put stripes in her lawn, so one day while she was at work, I cut her front lawn and put down some stripes just to tick her off, and she wanted me to show her how to do it on her tractor, so I jumped on it, and away I went, and put some shatty stripes by she like them, but was mad cuz she couldn't get it to work, but I now mow the lawn where she used to live, which is who I bought the truck from, her mother in-law lives there.

I wouldn't have the problem with it, I am just worried about all the idiots who don't know how to drive pulling in and out of parking spots and going threw parking lots like a bat out of you know where and hitting my truck. The guy who plows the parking lot by me has a dodge 4 door long bed that he wasn'g going to plow with, but he had to put his plow on that this year, and it's awkward, if he has to turn around it takes him 3/4 of the parking lot.

Hey don't worry about it.
About running a car into it, I think depending on on what side of the lot you are on, any parking lot for this fact, angle the blade to the left, that way if they do hit it, the truck may only slide to the right, and the car will not hit it smack dab, it will rub against the plow and the car will follow the direction of the angularity of the plow (i'm getting to techincall and don't know what the heck I"m talking about)

Yeah, I don't know how he was parked, I think they just pulled into the spot and pulled too far forward into his plow and were raising hell because his truck's too big and blah blah blah. Well, he can drive just fine, you're the one that plowed into his truck (pun intended).
And that makes sense about angling the plow that way. I'll admit, I know pretty much nothing about plowing, so whatever anybody says to me that sounds technical I'll take at face value.

I've plowed with tractors for a long time, then for the first time..........last winter or 2 winters ago, my neighbor went on vacation and left his keys in the truck, and I took that and plowed a little bit, he didn't care. But I've watched people plow all the time. And I found a good deal on a plow for my truck and I'll never go back to using a tractor again. Good ol` truck with heat and radio.

Well long time no update. I've been busy this year, the rain has been pretty good at keeping the grass growing pretty good. Have had a couple projects, and my dentist office has been keeping me pretty busy. The first couple of pics on page 1 I think, you will see all the dirt and crap that the snow plow had torn up, and in the pics I'm putting up now, you will see all the grass has grown back, and this lawn looks the best it has ever had in a long long time. I also put fresh washed stone down in the middle thing in the parking lot, I don't know what you wana call it, I guess tree bed. OH well, here are the pics.

I don't know what they were that I pulled out, but I just talked to my neighbor (dentist) and he said next monday, he's having his girls (hygenists) do some gardening, so, tomorrow I'm going to rake it flat and get it ready for them to plant, then I most likely be spreading half a yard of mulch just to freshen it up a little bit, I have no idea what they are going to do. But it will sure look a heck of a lot better with out those bushes, those were ugly as sin. They came out real easy though.

They were all leaning and rotting out. The city is going to come and pick them up tomorrow, I think I made a mistake of putting them there then because they will come with their loader and back hoe and probly tare up the grass. Oh well, the city can fix it this time.

I'd probably give them a bill for 200, depending on how close you are with them. Maybe less, I don't know, looks like it was pretty easy, that's why I wouldn't charge a lot. I'm not trying to lowball, but if the city is picking them up, then there go all your hauling and dump fees.

Hmmm. Usually I do $26/HR for clean up and stuff, and the hour was pulling the bushes out, and the hour was cleaning up, maybe $63........ hmm. I still have 2-3 weeks before I give him the bill. So I have time.

good pics man. My girlfriend and i always try to get into Holland State Park for camping but its always full. Must be a really nice park? We love to camp on the west side of the state. Its a lot nicer coast line it seems on that side then here on the east side.

I've actually never been camping at holland state park, infact I've never been to holland state park, I've been to Ludington state park day use side, I've been camping at sliver lake and went on the dunes. And yankee springs state park is just 8 miles away, I go camping there a bunch of times, infact I just got back from there on sunday and I'm going again next week for the holloween fest, high of 51 degrees and low of 30 degrees. I can't wait. If you ever come camping out at yankee springs, let me know

My girlfriend and i camped at ludington state park twice so far this year. Its our favorite campground to visit. We never been to Yankee springs but we are always looking for new campgrounds to go to as long as they have things to do there. We have one camping trip left and we are going to Waterloo state park for there Halloween fest. It should be pretty fun.

Yankee Springs Gun Lake campground has a beach, you can go swimming, there is a marina where you can rent a pontoon or if you have a canoe or a kayak, you can do that. Thats my favorite place to go since it's only 8 miles away, and my uncle has a cottage on the other side of the lake, but try silver lake, it has a lot of stuff around there, Craigs Cruisers, you can walk on the sand dunes, it's pretty fun.

Well, now that I fixed my camera after getting it full of sand at water. I took some pics of my plow and truck. I put blade guides on it, I had one on the right side, but I wanted some on both. Plus I got a new flasher, well it's used but new to me.
I will try and get some plowing pics next time we have a storm

That is actually a whelen DX responder. It's loud too, I think this summer if I get some cash, I'll buy a whelen LP responder like you, then I would leave it on all the time. But I take it on and off, because I drive 68 miles round trip and do a lot of driving, and I need all the MPG's I can get and less drag and so on, plus I do the automatic car wash, and water comes in where the cord is, so yeah
Looks good, when are putting the plow on the truck?
The plow has already been on, December 4th, and December 10th-11th. I dont' leave it on when I'm not using it. It takes 5 minutes to put it on.

Why are you pushing snow at the garage...? My clients would be pissed...!
AndyTblc

They don't use that garage, and there is also a 2 stall garage to the right of that, the lady is in her 80's and don't drive, and thats where she has always had the snow stacked was right where I'm doing it, I asked her before I started this year if they need to get in it, she said no, and just keep putting the snow there.

Well long time no update, so I figure I could take a few pictures, I have been busy mowing lawns, I lost 1 account and picked up 4 more, so I'd say I"m doing alright, we have been getting tons of rain, seems like every week we are getting a few inches here and there. Last night we got 3.5 inches. Also some wind.
Then today while loading the trailer, I heard a pop and then water. The neighbor put in a brand new 22' round 4 foot deep above ground pool last week. They filled it up, and today the liner popped and all that water drained out of that pool in 5 minutes. Flooded the persons basement and all the water drained down to the other neighbors. It was quite a sight.

I'm surprised somebody hasn't said anything about me putting my mower in the water. I didn't put it in there a whole lot. But when I do that, the mower comes out clean under neath, which is nice

Played in the dirt yesterday. The guy I know leases 16 acres of his land and a few weeks ago we had some heavy rain and we had a huge washout. The pictures do no justice to show the actual size. I stood in it, and it was about 5 foot tall in a few spots.
We had to move the dirt from where it washed to, and move it and dump it back in it's place. Took about 4 hours.

My uncle called and said that he lost 15 tree's during a storm Saturday, and still had down tree's from past storms, only the 15 tree's that fell during the storm Saturday were laying across the trails to run the golf car. So I took some before and after pictures.
We loaded up my ford focus which was narrow enough to take on a lot of the trails, he has 20 acres, and to carry the saw, gas oil, water, gloves and so on ,is a lot of work.

This spot don't have an after picture because one of the big tree's down was being supported from the trunk and the top of the tree on the ground and the saw will do nothing but pinch and it's a tough spot.

I have work tunes, I use them all the time.
I actually don't have any more accounts, I got out of doing this work and am working in radio, but now I might be helping someone out once a week to make some extra cash.
There are many reasons why I got out, but I physically was getting to the point where my body would not let me do this type of work all the time. Back problems, allergy's to certain things, migraines from the sun light, and stuff like that were the major factors of me getting out of the business.
