Okay, I have to vent, my work truck is an 07 Ford F-150,got it new, today I open the hood to check the fluids and as I close it I notice the front emblem is hanging....WTF.........Ford POS plastic bolt broke off, 2nd one is about to go as well..........

My 96 Tacoma, bought it new as well, emblems are still in place after all these years of owning it.........no wonder the Big 3 are screwed....

Pics are how I intend on fixing it, so it will never come off.......

That sucks man.

I've got a 99 Tacoma, 210,000 miles on it and never had a single issue. (knock on wood). Was planning on getting a F150 or 250 this year.

The only issues I have with the Ford are all "fit and finish". They should take pride in what they build.....

My 96 has 85K miles on it, I would trade that on a Tundra, only a Tundra......

I have a had a problem with my ford emblems on my '06 f-150 too, but some air and water got underneath it and made it bubble and discolor, i had the back one replaced and have been meaning to get the front one fixed. The head technician said he sees issues with the emblems all the time.

But i love my truck, i would only trade it for a bigger ford, or mayber a chevy :P but keep the dodges and toyota crap away from me!

They circled the problem right there in front of you with FORD in the middle. Put a chevy bowtie and all will be good.

Fit and finish on all my Fords has been second to none, my F-350 has 165K on it a 2004 and nothing, i mean nothing wrong and or falling apart and leather is still like new on drivers seat only truck i have been in which is more comfy was a Caddy escalade which was like a glove.. lol

had a 95 bronco which 190K never a problem
94 bronco 210 k never a problem and took this one off road all the time, had 33's on it both broncos full size eddie Bauer.
2000 F-150 lariat had 180K not a single problem
1978 F-350 with 280K and not a problem any where to be found..

I dont think there is a truck, car and or anything that will not have some problems with one or two and Ford triples Toyota output of trucks therefor just by sheer numbers will see more wrong with a ford being there are a huge amount on the road.. % wise.. still more older fords on the road than any other truck out there. They last !

make a good commercial :usflag:

Now my Maxima, thats a car.. lol

Must be a common problem.....the Ford emblem on my '95 250 is falling off too oh no!

If I may ask though, why not take it back to the dealer for warranty?

I tried that on my in-laws 95 Ford, the dealer said I would have to prove it was defective......???????

They would never admit they have a problem, kinda like the new Chevys have with the driving lights, one always burns out, start to notice them, you'll see what I'm talking about......

Wow, the emblem came off.. Too bad it wasn't something minor like engine problems. Good thing it is under warranty, because I have heard that those things are pretty expensive to fix.

So when the sticker fades and falls off of your mower it then becomes a POS? Come on man glue it back on, at least it wasn't something less serious like engine problems.

Yeh cuz ya know Fords the worst off of all manu's, O wait theyre doing the best of the three. Theres a reason for that. Just because a stupid emblem falls off you have to make this stupid thread, that will make some dumbasses go wow yeh, Ford is junk cuz theyre emblems fall off 2 or 3 years down the road!!

Thats it...Im selling my 04 powerstroke before something bad happers....I mean the other day I had to replace a cab light. I cant take it anymore. Toyota here I come.

Ok that was a little over the top, but seriously man. My truck has pulled more crap, driven more tough miles, idles more tanks of fuel, and generally provided more pleasure then pain. I think you need to look at the situation with a little reality. It's only a little trip piece. At least the engine didnt fail, or a wheel fall off.

Any truck you can treat like a vegas wh*re and keeps going is worth keeping. My 2500 HD works as hard as I do. For atleast 2/3 of its 150,000 miles its felt right at home pulling fully loaded trailers and the tach at about 3,500 all day long. If that truck blows its internals all over my driveway tomarrow morning it would owe me nothing. Time after time I have grossly overloaded, overrevved, and just flat out misused and abused that truck and it just keeps on rolling. Over the years the cosmetic appeal has gone down hill and who really gives a sh*t. The truck still makes me money and its been paid off for several years. The bottem line is that if the truck is still rolling down the road and not leaving you stranded who cares if gay little emblems, decals, etc. fall off.

Me thinks the emblem is an important part that should never fall off...kinda like the symbol of pride...the last thing you install before the truck leaves the assembly line. I wouldn't call the truck a POS but I would think that someone didn't care enough to figure out a way to make the damn thing stay on.

That being said I will continue to drive my Toyota's (I have 2 Tacoma 4x4's) and be very happy. After being a mechanic for several years I will never buy a Ford, Chevy or Dodge...say what you want to say but we worked on more of the big 3 then anything else. I have owned GM products and I did not care for them much.

No doubt that Ford, Chevy and Dodge make a great truck, but the plastic parts and electronics are crap and the fit and finish is nothing to write home about.

Parts content on most Toyota's is greater than that of most "Made in the USA" cars.

Tacoma is 80% US made parts for example.
Dodge Ram 53% US parts content.

Yeah CGA I'm sure that all the profits Toyota, Honda, etc. make stay here in the US and help our economy. I'm sure an emblem has never fallen of a Toyota. Keep buying foriegn products and you will be speaking Chinese our country soon.

And you think all the profits from building parts for GM, Ford and Dodge in China, Canada and Mexico are going to the US? If 50% of the parts for the big three are made in other countries then that money is not spent here, it is spent in those countries. With Honda and Toyota building quality cars in America by American workers the wages of those workers are spent here in the US.

I guess you have an American built toaster, TV, VCR, DVD, microwave, dishes....want me to keep going? I try to buy as much "Made in The USA" products I can, but I will not cut my nose to spite my face...in other words, I will not buy a $hitty car just because it was assembled in America with parts from Mexico, China, Canada, and any other places not in the US.

With Toyota and Honda most of the parts are made here by Americans...sure some profits go to Japan, but whats the difference really? Does it really make a difference if you pay workers in another country to build parts for an American car, or parts made in the US for a car assembled in the US by US workers with some of the profits going to Japan? Actually it does, by sending the labor into other countries to build parts it is taking from our economy. Those wages are not spent here. Talking about a drag on the economy.

And for what its worth, we have a fleet of Toyota's and not a single emblem has ever fallen off. Oil, gas, brakes, tires and other maintenance.

Since you won't buy a $hitty car... Why don't you bring that fleet of Toyota's up to Ohio and see how many it will take you to push my Ford out of the way, then we'll see who's vehicle is $hitty.

A Toyota should be called a GROCERY GETTER and be driven by women, Let the men drive the Trucks and you keep braggin about your American made Toyota.

I will say that I only use American made bread in my japanese toaster (So There):dizzy:.

We don't push Fords, we pull them.

Wondering why yours would need to be pushed since its so great...jus sayin'

This is one of 3 like this: Same bumper, lift and winch on all of them. Pretty $hitty trucks, 4x4, locker in the rear, winch, Old Man Emu 3" suspension lift...you know the same stuff used by woman to pull out men in their Fords, in fact one of 3 Tacoma's like this is my wife's.

Why would I need to call you? For one I never get stuck, second I have a winch, and third I would rather walk then to give a Ford owner the satisfaction of pulling me out.:laugh:

Besides I am sure most road vehicles in Ohio are eat up with rust...wouldn't want you to yank your truck body off!!
