there is still a good 50' to the lake, all of which is shrubs, but yeah I know what you mean. here some pics from today. I'm hating myself because when starting at 7am and just getting back now I FORGOT my nikon at the last stop (lighting job) so i made do w/ the iphone which is useless for night shots, I'll have to go back later anyways

Question about the second pic. How do you get the mowers into the turf area? Looks like edging stone and heads are blocking all access.
Also, what kind of lighting is installed at that residence?

they have a pretty complex routine at the house w/ the edging, they get the push mower off the truck and pick it up over the curb, mow, and when finished pick it up again :-) fortuantly its just a little grass area. We do have a ramp/footrest for the walker that works like a champ. I used alliance brand lights on this project, I'd love to use somthing more high end but our market isn't quite ready for that jump. The iphone of course doesn't do it justice but when I was there last night adjusting they were having a party and his friends were pretty much blown away with how it looks (I was too but played it cool)

Why not? Trees can use a boost, especially the ancients. Besides, I like the repair money for the lines Rotar pops.

"Just in case" fertilization is an asinine practice, especially when it comes to ornamental trees, and even more the case for the "ancients".

You are injecting Talstar, are you sure? Talstar is an pyrethroid insecticide (Bifenthrin), sometimes mixed with ferts and highly toxic to fish. I have serious doubt if it will do a bit of good at 3 feet depth.

your wrong their krill it's has received about 1.5lbs of N total this year, in 2 apps. the weather here has been PERFECT for fescue this year (until the last 3 days) we don't fert this one to death because we only mow it every 2 weeks per owner request.

Sry man, I consider that being hit hard, especially considering the highly questionable benefits of spring N applications and that fescue really only needs about 2-4 lbs/K/year (or sometimes even less than 2 lbs) depending on soil type and management practices.

Kiril is one of my favorite posters. I can feel angst everywhere. He is right in my opinion on the tree fertilizing. Couple of extra runs with the spreader and the Boy Scouts organic fertilizer is all that is really necessary.

Lower in fat too. I'm going to buy a freezer full and try BISON brisket. You can have some if you bring a 6 pack of New Belgium:)

As noted, the questionable benefits of high N in the spring (reduced root growth when you want to be promoting it, increased chance of disease). IMO, you would be better off with a light compost top dress in the spring, and a heavier top dress in the fall along with a very slow release N (if even needed).

There are wild camels in AZ. You also cannot ride a camel to the capitol on Sunday, or a horse for that matter.

Reviewed the books this morning, we started pushing service contracts for the first time and our YTD service doubled this year when compared to last April. Granted it is misleading since it will include the winterization but maybe only 20% or less are opting for the contracts so far. We launched our website last fall and are currently receiving maybe 4-6 new service customers a week and 1-2 tire kickers for installs via the web.

BrandonV

so the first pics are of an install we didn't do, we designed the project and the builder promptly handed our design to someone else. Anways this was their attempt at using a lake pump... to prime it you first must take off the PR valve, which I suppose was an after thought. The later pics were one of ours, but in which a valve was missed (under the dock) during winterization, broke the output line, but and rather easy fix.

I hope others caught this. Service contracts are good business. Give you something to sell. Eventually you can close your doors and manage your labor very efficiently.
