Toro TimeCutter Z 44" won't start

Problem-Whenever I try to crank the mower, gas shoots out my exhaust. There is gas in my oil also. Every thing I've read about this says my needle valve is probably stuck. I've taken the bowl off and every thing looks normal. I'm stumped. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help.

try putting a gas shut-off in the gasline between the gas tank and the carb. every time you finish mowing, turn the gas off. I had a very similar experience on my Kohler Command. it COMPLETELY fixed my problems. GL
