I'm more interested in the button up uniform shirt with reflective lining sewed in...
Where did you get those? And what, If I may ask, did it cost?

The trailer is a pace 7x16 i payed 4700 dollars for it last week, the floor i rolled on the heculiner, 2 coats and it is very hard...looks good and reduces slip and slide with equipment. I had my logo guy do the trailer..expensive but its a good advertizing on the road...mowers were all bought new this year as i trade them in every 2 years..i have 2-66" 1-60 2-48" 1-26" 2-21", all the weed eaters and blowers are new this year as well, as my guys tear them up pretty good. The shirts i get thru citas uniform company and im on contract with them...the shop is about 2500sqft and i just remolded it this year with the office. This is my 5th year in buisness and I have grown 30% each year...not trying to get to big, as last year i ran 2 mowing crews and 2 install crews as this year i will have only one of each...the best thing is all my equipment is payed for except the skidd steer and f-250, and those will be payed for by this winter. Hope this helps, as when i statrted it was just me... a t-shirt....a push mower....and swallowing my pride at every door step. It takes time for people to know your company and right now im booked up for mowing and have about 4 installs lined up, with 2 seawalls and i did no advertizing yet this year...hope this helps guys and thanks...

You definately have one nice setup man!
You should throw some gray paint up on the trailer walls. That would really complete the job. You said the mowers were new, are those the 09 lazers? May just be me but I thought the new exmarks had the black fender things under the gas tanks...?

Only the Lazer z got changed this year, the lazer z XS are still the same, the one lazer is a demo model from last year, only had 30hrs on it... It cost me about 500 bucks for the trailer to get done since the company has done all my trucks i get a good deal on it...

why would you cut a maintenance crew? 2 isnt a whole lot in the first place....
traviswalker007
04-28-2009, 09:20 PM
Went down to 1 3 man maint crew due to supply and demand. I can get the same amount done with a 3 man crew thank i can with two, 2 man crews. Less the truck time, fuel and associated costs with another crew period. I have large commercial lawn maint contracts, 1 place for example takes 3 guys to cut and trim 12 1/2 hrs. Plus minus the headaches, it is well worth the incentives for my guys to produce more with less and recieve a bonus each month vs running additional crews. Right now its working out fine. My hardscape crew is running the same, the hard part is keeping them busy with the econmy in a downward spirial, I see myself doing more......for less. Grass pays the bills, and the installs pay for the equipment. Right now with all the rain im a week and a half behind with more rain on the way. As far as the hardscape, I have enough to keep busy for about 2 months thus far, got my fingers crossed as we are already down by 48% from last year at this time..
