Nice assortment of equipment! How wide is the landpride mower and how do you like it? The boss just bought a similar one last year, possibly the same model, and so far it's been great! I absolutely love how much I can cut with it, I think ours is a 21'.

That's just sick... I'm jealous!!
How do you like the 997's?
STIHL GUY
04-26-2009, 12:34 AM
that is one huge trailer
johndeereguy
04-26-2009, 12:57 AM
The 997's I really get along good with. I have 3 of them this year. I replace them every two years with about 1100 hours on both of em.
I do use the tractor a lot. I had a 4720 Deere before this one. I will put anywhere berween 800 and 1000 hours on it a year. Usually trade every year or at the most two.

very nice. do you have like two sets of tires for the tractor. i think i see agricultural's in one and more like turf tires in another?
johndeereguy
04-26-2009, 02:29 PM
ya I run two sets. Ag ones from fall to spring for snow removal and seeding work, then turf tires for mowing and lawn work

How long is the trailer? Love the tractor + batwing, do you farm also?
johndeereguy
04-26-2009, 11:34 PM
trailer is 40 ft. I don't farm myself, yet, but grew up on a farm and the whole family farms, I help out a lot in the fall when the mowing slows up

04-27-2009, 10:20 AM
I like having everything match as well. Thats why I use all Deere equipment, Stihl handhelds and landpride grounds care equipment. I have two dealers who do me a great job and I support both of them well. The seeder I was using was rented from a Deere dealer, it worked great the brand was Kafco. I seeded about 25 acres with it one day.

My first instinct was to say wtf to a trailer that large.....
But, you almost need a bigger one, lol
johndeereguy
04-27-2009, 10:50 PM
very true, my next trailer wil be same length, but will have tripple axels with duals, then I can carry 30,000 punds on it, this one is rated at 21,000, thanks for all the comments. I will try to get some mowing pics this week

I couldn't help but admiring your set up. To be honest, I'm not a Deere guy, but I can definitely appreciate brand loyalty. It looks like you keep your equipment clean as well. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures.
johndeereguy
04-28-2009, 11:14 PM
Thanks, as for straping down the two z's, takes about 1 minute each, so no big deal. I also do larger time consuming properties, most would take roughly 3-4 hours with that rig, as far as keeping everything clean, you would not want to see them from today, MUD, they were new or coming out of the shop for the first time in those pics, lol

New truck is in the house!! Well, kind of, lol Its getting the flatbed installed. I purchased a slightly used 2008 Ford F650 XLT Supercab, Black. I will use it to pull the big trailer. I almost stole the truck I got it so cheap, I think. 6 speed Allison 3000 Auto, Air seat, Air brakes, 4 door supercab, 260 HP Cat, power everything, polished aluminum wheels. It was a Ford RePo and has just 6200 miles on it. It should be fun, will get pics as soon I get it back.

Do you like the 950s?? I've had the 850 (pos) and now on my second 930. I noticed it looses power going up hill and I'm still having issues with the transmission. Don't get me wrong it's way better then the 800 series but I'm just wondering if you've noticed anything??

Im getting into the large acreage cutting as well, currently cut about 180acres/week. Going to find out on the 22nd if Im adding 235more acres.
Just out of curiosity how many acres do you cut and what type of cutting? Is it all municaple or do you do schools and stuff too.
Love your rig. Just picked up a gooseneck myself to carry 4 big Z's.:canadaflag::weightlifter:

Quick question, for doing lawn installs, general landscaping, and plowing some parking lots in the winter would you prefer a smaller framed 55hp tractor over the larger framed 55hp like yours? Thanks, David

I love the 900 series Z traks. Had a 930 last year, an dwanted to have all mowers the same from now on. For doing lawn seeding and plowing, I like the 4720 (66 hp) a lot better then the 5525 (90 hp) Its lighter, easier to manuver and just works better. I only plow with one truck. I use 2 tractors and have 8 skids that I have Arctic sectionals on. I will post a few pics of that stuff later on.
