does the stripper leave an even stripe and does it tear up the turf any?

No tears. Just lays the grass over to match wheel tracks.

No wonder your projects look so good.
I'm going to have to quit trying to build things out of junk.:D
Honestly, I like your roller idea to support the chop saw. I need one of those. I just happen to have 11 rollers I bought in a rack from the junk yard. Maybe I'm just a junk dealer at heart.

Yes there is nothing like cutting into a fresh piece of 10' angle iron. (its like buttta) But I have an extensive scrap pile also, there is not much I throw away. For instance the bearings from that roller were atained 12 years ago and were housed in a ice cream container titled, Bearings and Things. In fact I have a friend who works at a small fab operation and this winter I went industrial dumpster diving. Got some nice 6" x 6" pieces . One thing I have noticed, if you find the right supplier steel is cheap compaired to wood.

Fine work 1grnlwn. :)
A lot of projects require the use of short pieces, so under a bench I have a varied assortment of "drop" or "short ends" pieces - up to about 24" in length. Having them on hand saves cutting up the full lengths when I only need a foot or so.
