I've heard from some of your threads that the 08's were really weak. I'm looking at a used one of these and want your opinion. Is this enough motor for the deck size? Should I run away like it's on fire? Any input would be appreciated. It only has around 200 hrs. Thanks for your advice.

;) check this thread out.
I ran a 820 with a 54" deck last year and it was underpowered on the hills. I think the 60" deck would make the 820 fall flat on its face.

John Deere's and the number "8"s don't mix well.

My dealer told me they are going to stop making the 800's in June. My 757 hydros went out last August and they put the pump from the 800 in it. Well now i have had the forth pump put in since. So run fast there is a reason it's for sale.

Pump from an 800 series won't fit in a 757... just physically not possible.

820/60" is iffy at best. If you're not cutting tall or thick grass, and don't have many steep hills to deal with, you may be ok. More than likely not. The 830's and above seem a lot better. The 25hp Kawi just isn't enough for the 820.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have another chance to buy a 06 Hustler 66" XR7 deck with 26 hp as well. Any advice on that one?:)
